Search Engine Marketinggggg

My feelings when it comes to search engines are pretty strong and sometimes I think I wouldn't know what I know without search engines. If it wasn't for Google or any other search engine I don't know where I would be especially when it comes to school and research assignments. Not only do I use Google for school I use it for shopping, looking at pictures, looking for phone numbers and everything and anything else you can think of. The more and more I think about it the more and more I wonder if I could live without using a search engine esp Google, as stupid as that sounds.

Search Engine Marketing

After going through the power point slides and assigned readings for this topic, Search Engine marketing I learned a lot. Although I knew that Google was the most popular search engine used I didn't realize how popular it actually is. There are five primary search engines, MSN, Yahoo, AOL search, Ask, and Google and of these five primary search engines Google holds 62% of the popularity, it seems crazy to me that the other four search engines cant be combined to over rule Google, this tells you how much pull Google has in the search engine industry. As I thought more and more about this topic I wondered why I choose to use Google over the other choices all this time, and honestly I couldn't think of any good reasons. Daily, I go to 4 out of five of these sights and no matter what site I am at AOL, Yahoo, or MSN I will veer off to Google if I was to search something. Honestly, I think it may because I use the other search engines for other functions, AOL for AIM, Yahoo for email and pictures, and MSN always seems to open when I open the Internet so I tend to read the news on there and I only use Google for searching things? Or maybe it's because every time someone talks about searching for information they refer to Google including professors. Did Google become so big from word of mouth... hmmmm..?
